Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information AtoZclips collects, why we need it, who we share it with and how long we keep it. AtoZclips is operated by a sole trader in Australia (ABN 30 697 046 367), who is responsible for your information. You can reach us at support@atozclips.com. See also our Terms of Service.

1. What we collect

Your account

Your email address and password. Passwords are stored securely (hashed) by our login provider, Supabase. We never see them. Supabase also records sign-in details, such as the time and your IP address, to keep accounts secure.
Your plan, how many source minutes you've used this period, and whether you've used your free sample.

Billing

If you subscribe, Stripe collects your payment details, name and billing address at checkout. We only keep the Stripe customer and subscription IDs that link your account to your subscription. We never receive your full card number.

Your content

The videos you upload, and the clips, transcripts, hook titles and translations we make from them.
On Studio, your brand kit: your logo, highlight colour and font choice.

Technical information

The cookies that keep you logged in (see section 6).
Your IP address, which our server holds in memory only, for up to about 15 minutes, to limit how often uploads can be started and so stop abuse. It isn't saved anywhere.
Server logs of errors and warnings, which can include your IP address and the page you asked for. They're kept only for a limited time: logs are automatically overwritten once they reach a set size.

2. How we use it

To run your account and give you the features of your plan.
To turn your videos into clips: transcribing speech, finding moments, writing hook titles, translating captions and rendering video.
To take payments and keep track of your monthly minutes.
To keep AtoZclips secure, fix problems and stop abuse, like extra accounts used for free samples.
To send emails about your account, such as sign-up confirmation and password resets (sent by Supabase), and payment receipts (sent by Link, see below). We don't send marketing emails.

We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and we don't use your videos or clips to train AI models. If you're in the EU or UK, our legal bases for using your information are: performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure, and our legal obligations for billing records.

3. Who we share it with

We only share what each service needs to do its job for us:

Supabase: holds our login system and database (your account, plan, usage and brand kit settings), privately stores brand kit logos, and sends account emails. Our Supabase data is stored in Sydney, Australia.
Stripe: processes payments and manages subscriptions. Payments are sold through Link, Stripe's checkout service, which acts as the seller of record, calculates sales tax and sends your receipts. Stripe and Link use your payment information under their own privacy policies.
Anthropic (the company behind the Claude AI): receives the text of your transcript and clip titles so it can pick the best moments, write hook titles and translate captions. Your video and audio aren't sent to Anthropic. Speech is transcribed on our own server. Anthropic's commercial terms don't allow it to train its AI models on what we send it.
DigitalOcean: hosts our website and video engine on servers in New York, United States. Your uploads are processed there.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect people from harm. If AtoZclips is ever sold or merged, your information may move to the new owner under this same policy, and we'll tell you first.

4. How long we keep it

Uploaded videos: deleted automatically as soon as we've finished making your clips, or as soon as processing fails. If our server is interrupted mid-job, any leftover copy is deleted within about 2 hours.
Finished clips: deleted automatically 2 days after they're made.
Data for changing a clip's hook title (Studio): a copy of each clip without its hook title, plus the title options, deleted automatically after 2 days.
Transcripts: kept for up to 7 days, so uploading the same video again is faster.
Brand kit: kept until you remove it or close your account.
Account information: kept while your account is open, and deleted within 30 days of you asking us to close it.
Billing records: kept by Stripe under its own policy, and by us for at least 5 years, as Australian tax law requires.

5. Your rights

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, give you a copy, or delete it. You can also object to how we use it. To ask, including to have your account and data deleted, email support@atozclips.com from the email address on your account, and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or your local data protection authority.

6. Cookies

We only use the cookies needed to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't use analytics. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy first.

7. Security

We protect your information with access controls: you can only see your own data, logos are stored privately with no public links, and uploaded files are deleted quickly. All connections to AtoZclips are encrypted (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

8. Where your information is processed

AtoZclips is run from Australia, but our providers process your information in other countries: our servers are in the United States (DigitalOcean, New York), and Stripe and Anthropic are based in the United States. Your account data is held by Supabase in Sydney, Australia. When information leaves your country, we rely on our providers' legal safeguards for international transfers (such as standard contractual clauses).

9. Children

AtoZclips isn't for anyone under 18. If you think a child has given us their information, contact us and we'll delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we'll tell you by email or on the site before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
